Map Plate
A map plate is the right commission when the question is already narrow and the records are already in your hands. We draw one sheet that makes those records visible at a common scale, and we attach a caption note of about two pages that says what was used and what was left off.
- Format
- One printed plate and a short caption note
- Duration
- Two to three weeks
- Where
- Drawn at the Ramintra Road studio; a site visit is not part of the standard plate
- Fee basis
- From 28,000 THB
Who it is for
Families with an old deed they cannot picture, architects who need a clean base before their own drawing begins, and anyone who wants one subject — access, a khlong edge, a set of levels — put on paper without a full place study.
Included
- A review of the records you supply
- One plate at an agreed scale
- A caption note of about two pages naming sources and limits
- One revision round on that plate
- A printed sheet and a digital copy of the same sheet
Outside this commission
- Site walks, unless added in writing before work starts
- Additional themes beyond the one plate
- Licensed survey certificates or construction drawings
- Interpretation of records we have not been shown
How the weeks run
-
Records and the question
You send the material and say what the plate must make visible. If the records are too thin to draw honestly, we say so before a fee is taken and suggest a place study instead.
-
Drawing and caption
The plate is drawn at the studio. The caption lists every source and any gap that remains visible as a blank rather than a guess.
-
Revision and release
You review a proof. One round of correction is included. The printed sheet is released after the fee is paid in full.
Before we begin
Send clear copies of the plans, deeds, or sketches the plate should rest on, and name the single question. Mixed piles of unrelated sheets slow the work and may move the fee.
Limits
If the question needs a walk, this commission is the wrong one. We will say that early rather than stretch a desk plate into a field study.
The fee
28,000 THB is the start for one plate from a tidy set of records, drawn for a site in Greater Bangkok, without a visit. Messy or contradictory sources, an extra inset, or a requested visit are estimated separately.
The full fee is asked before drawing begins. This page does not take payment.
